Final Coffee table

While working through ways to make this table functional as well as useful I looked at the form my mess takes on a coffee and the items I had on it. The mess formed around the center and the items there were mostly books and magazines. To work through the problem of the mess I removed the center of the table from use and placed a hands magazine storage shelf below the surface of the table.

Lets try this again

After spending some time in sketch-up fiddling with some concept I move on the the idea of a night stand. The switch from the size of a coffee table to a nightstand scale help oodles. Here are the results. Now I need to build it.



During the building of the model, I was focusing on how I could build this out of wood and the levels and sides could support themselves. It helped keep things simple working with that in mind.

I was looking through Moco Loco and I saw this image



I was inspired to come up with some designs of my own with construction in mind (because I want one).



The idea was it make it a functional coffee table. This is the first concept, based mostly on my arbitrary need for a similar design. I will come up with more.
